Nikki's "farewell"

Nikki gave her "farewell" talk today in church and she did a super job! She is going to be a great missionary. We had a "get-together" last night for all who wanted to congratulate and say bye to Nikki. She was busy on Saturday getting ready for this big day - busy writing her talk and busy working on another cake. She wanted to something mission related, so she decided to try a Book of Mormon. (We had just watched Ace of Cakes a few nights ago where they had done a book cake so she had a good idea how to do it) It turned out great and everyone who saw it couldn't believe it was a cake. Nobody wanted to cut into it to have a piece and someone even suggested we freeze it and save it for when she gets home from her mission.

Happy "21st" Birthday Nikki!

Nikki is busy getting ready for her mission - just a couple of weeks left. She is going to the temple on Friday, doing her "farewell" talk in church this Sunday, and the following Friday we are leaving for Utah. She is to report to the MTC on March 4, so she will have a few days to visit with family and friends.

One night we had the TV on the Food Channel and was watching "Ace of Cakes" and Nikki caught the bug. The next day she decided that she was going to make and decorate a cake with fondant. She was pretty much working on it all day long. And it turned out great. She decided to make one for Valentines day too! We ended up using that cake for her birthday, since its so close to valentines day - she was ok with that because she says that she doesn't like cake anyway - she would just have ice cream. This one turned out really cute too! She definately has a talent for it - she is a very creative girl.

This is Travis's latest "deal". He is so good at finding them. We got all these Sobe's for $0! And that is only one shopping trips worth, we have some stored out in the garage too. Go Travis! He's now on the look out for the next big "deal".
